Nightflower - Dark Sky Protection Advocacy

We're making Nightflower, a feature documentary following the scientists, artists, and communities working to understand and protect what's disappearing above us: the world's remaining dark skies.

Over the course of production we've developed close relationships and gained real access with contributors across the globe; from Indigenous astronomical knowledge-keepers in the Kalahari, to a pollinator researcher tracking light's impact in the Swiss Alps, to community-led lighting reform in County Mayo. All of these individuals together illustrate the scale and nuance of this issue. Through screenings with Dark Sky organizations internationally, we're working to educate audiences on the research, fieldwork, advocacy, and policy shaping this movement, and to platform the people driving it forward.

Rosalia Project - North Eastern Ocean Conservation

Nightflower is a partner with The Rosalia Project, a nonprofit dedicated to protecting the ocean through research, cleanup, and education, operating throughout the Gulf of Maine aboard their sailing research vessel, American Promise.

The team studies marine debris and biodiversity across the Northeast, combining hands-on cleanup work with data collection and hands-on learning for volunteers, students, and scientists alike.
